I’m still on cloud nine after speaking at the Young Women’s Conference during the 2025 Skills Ontario Competition a few weeks ago. It was incredible connecting with all the attendees and inspiring young women.

I was also overwhelmed with love when my family surprised me by showing up to support me. Shout out to my incredible sister who was still in her scrubs after coming off of a night shift but driving 1.5 hours to come and support me anyway.

Huge shoutout to my boyfriend, findlaysmallengine , for volunteering with me for 5 days and celebrating his 25th birthday while doing so.

Big thank you to the TDSB OYAP team, the Brick and Allied Craft Union (BACU Local 2), and the Mechanical Insulation union insulators95 for an incredible day of hands-on learning and networking!

Co-op and Guidance teachers got to roll up their sleeves and experience what it’s like to work with brick and mortar and how to insulate pipes—two skilled trades that are in high demand across the industry.
